I'm fundraising for The Walk For Children with Allergies

21 years ago my daughter Jaida, was diagnosed with life threatening anaphylaxis. Even now, at 23 years of age, if she is to eat any tree nut, she will die.  I have had to inject her with an Epipen (adrenalin) on numerous occasions to keep her alive until we can reach a hospital. 

My late husband, John Ilhan, Founder of the Crazy John Empire, and I decided at that point that we needed to make a change.  At the time, nothing was being done in this arena.  We established the Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation and over the last 21 years we have raised over $2 million dollars.

Today 17 generous individuals will walk their way through Tuscany to raise money for the Centre For Paediatric Allergies in conjunction with The Epworth Hospital.  This walk is fully funded by each individual but we need to be inspired by the support of others!

Our goal as a couple is $20,000 (my husband, Chris Blackman,  and I), and these funds will go towards funding a Fellowship at The Centre For Paediatric Allergies so a doctor can be trained in treating Australian children with severe food allergies.  To date, we have trained 6 doctors to specialise in this area, however we need to raise funds every year to keep the Fellowship going. This is the only way to ensure that no child in Australia dies from eating the wrong foods.
