I'm fundraising for an important cause.
This year, I am excited to join a wonderful group of people to embark on the Italian Camino via the Francigena pilgrimage trail in Tuscany, all to raise funds for prostate cancer research.
In my role as a fundraiser at Epworth, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside the dedicated team at the E.J. Whitten Prostate Cancer Research Centre since its inception. I am incredibly proud of the ground-breaking work they do, led by Professor Nathan Lawrentschuk and Research Manager Thili Chengodu.
Since 2018, the Whitten team has been at the forefront of improving prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. They have pioneered innovative therapies, including the Nanoknife focal treatment—a minimally invasive day procedure that is transforming patient care.
Thanks to their efforts, we have seen significant advancements in how prostate cancer is treated in Australia, and their work continues to drive change.
Many of my friends have been affected by prostate cancer, and I am grateful that nearly all are doing well today — thanks to exceptional doctors, surgeons, and cutting-edge research.
Beyond fundraising, I want to raise awareness about prostate cancer and encourage men to have regular screenings. Early diagnosis leads to excellent outcomes.
I would be deeply grateful for your support as I take on this challenge.
Thank you so much for your support, Annie
