Help us create a dedicated home for children living with severe allergies
This October, I will be joining a group of passionate supporters to raise funds for a dedicated new home for Epworth's Centre for Paediatric Allergies.
The cause could not be more important.
Melbourne has the highest rates of childhood food allergies in the world, with one in 10 babies and one in every 20 primary school children living with a food allergy.
For these children and their families, allergies can affect every aspect of daily life. The risk of a serious allergic reaction means constant vigilance, uncertainty and anxiety.
Epworth is at the forefront of treatment and research in paediatric allergies. We are now working to establish a permanent home for this vital service so we can expand our research, grow our clinical programs and support more children and families.
As part of the fund raising efforts I will join Epworth Medical Foundation Executive Director Scott Bulger and a committed group of supporters who are helping make this vision a reality. They are using a walk through Puglia in southern Italy as their focus of support.
Every dollar raised will help create a dedicated centre for research, treatment and care on Bridge Road, ensuring more children and families can access world-class support close to home.
I would be grateful for your support. Donating to the service will help transform care, research and outcomes for children living with severe allergies and immunodeficiencies with every dollar given be directed to the service.
Thank you for helping us make this possible.
Andrew
